Bechtel India Offices provides Engineering, Procurement and Construction services and support Bechtel's project globally, for Energy, Infrastructure, Mining and Metal, and Manufacturing & Technology global business units.

Bechtel India Private Limited is a wholly owned Bechtel company located in Gurgaon, on the outskirts of the Indian capital New Delhi, and an office in the city of Vadodara in the state of Gujrat.


Construction function in Bechtel India provides Construction Engineering services, Constructability reviews, construction automation support and various other home office construction services to our projects executed in New Delhi, Vadodara offices and international jobsites.

***: The Workface Planner Civil/Structural will be responsible to prepare Installation Work Packages (IWPs), Material Take-offs (MTO) for specific disciplines and will also support office construction activities, such constructability reviews, ensuring safety in design, providing construction's input to engineering and procurement teams that improves Total Installed Cost (TIC) on the projects.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

A. Supervision Received
Receives technical and operational supervision from Chief Construction Engineer or India Office Manager of Construction

B. Supervision Exercised
Provides technical and administrative direction to subordinate construction engineers if assigned.

C. Contacts


Interface with the engineering design functional group, procurement and contracts, project controls, quality and project estimation and project proposal teams.

Jobsite contacts are with Site Manager, Project Field Engineer, Field Engineers/Superintendents, and other support disciplines.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • The Civil & structural Workface Planner is responsible for developing IWP's in addition to being accountable for developing the detailed IWP release plan (90Day schedule) with the Responsible superintendent, Responsible Field Engineer.
  • The Workface Planner will review general installation priorities and check to assure the work accomplished meets the project requirements.
  • Reviews work scope, checking sequences, access, resources, equipment needs, prework, materials, and support services.
  • The Workface Planner prepares the scope of the IWP in coordination with Lead Civilstructural Workface Planner, Civilstructural field engineer and Superintendent to gain approval for the IWP.
  • Workface Planner will perform random checking of IWPs assembled by other Workface planners.
  • Understand work packaging philosophy, scope of installation, Work Breakdown Structure and scoping of installation work packages.
