We are pleased to launch the ExcelHer program – the career returnship program at Volvo Group in India. The program is for women who have been on a career break for a year or more. This is our step towards empowering women to relaunch their professional journey after their absence from the workplace due to personal commitments. Exciting work assignments have been identified which you can refer in the list below.

The assignments are for a tenure of 9 months. The participant of this program would have access to professional development programs, mentoring assistance by a business leader, apart from the experience of working with people from different functions/technologies/culture.

About the team :

As Software Engineer you will be responsible for Support and maintenance of Global Powertrain Production applications. Also, the candidate would be expected to work on design and development of CRs and in Project work.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Drive for new features in collaboration with product owners and design team i.e., research, design and write new software programs (e.g., business applications). Build innovative solutions and technologies to improve quality and performance. Assure know-how and capabilities build-up for software engineer cohort. Develop detailed designs of medium complexity applications Oversee and maintain all software engineering activities across products/teams. Responsible for the development of high quality, scalable and maintainable systems using service oriented architecture. Write and test code, refining and rewriting it as necessary and communicate with any team member involved in the project. Support end-users in runtime (e.g third line support).

Skills Required:

Mandatory Technical Skill Sets: Practical experience in Win forms/ASP .Net using C#, .Net Framework 3.5 & above, SQL. Strong in Window application development using C# Experience of working on Visual Studio 2017/above, TFS Good in diagnostic and quick problem solving. Experience in development, application maintenance and Support projects. Good experience in Agile, SCRUM. Mandatory Soft skills/Mindset Complete proficiency in English is a requirement. Communication: Must possess good verbal and written Communication. Team Skills: Must be a team Player and be ready to stretch to meet the overall team objectives. You can navigate with ease in a multi-cultural environment and actively cooperate with various stakeholders. Flexibility: The ideal candidate must be Flexible to work in New Developments, Maintenance and Support Activities including Shifts and Oncall Support as required. Mindset: Must have a Continuous Learning & Continuous Improvement Mindset Good-to-Have Skill Sets: Basic Knowledge of WMQ and WMQ Client, WMQ Explorer. Practical experience in .NET Core and Angular JS is desirable. Having experience in one/more Emerging Technologies (like AI/ML, Cloud Computing, RPA, Data Analytics, Microservices etc.) would be an added advantage. Otherwise, should be willing to learn and acquire new skills and quickly work on new technologies. Special Conditions The candidate is expected to be part of Oncall rota. The candidate is expected to work from office as per the requirements of current Hybrid Model followed in Volvo Digital & IT India site.

Education & Experience Required:

Minimum educational qualification should be BE/B.Tech/MCA 3-5 years of experience
