We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Liferay DXP Upgrade and Development Specialist to join our team.

In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and successful upgrade of our Liferay DXP platform to version 7.4, while also maintaining and enhancing our existing Lead the upgrade process for Liferay DXP from prior versions (7.1, 7.2, 7.3) to version 7.4, ensuring minimal disruption and data integrity.


  • Upgrade existing Liferay themes and modules, adapting them to the new Liferay 7.4 architecture and functionalities.
  • Develop new themes from scratch, adhering to best practices for a userfriendly and visually appealing experience.
  • Update and migrate Liferay service hooks and JSP fragments to ensure compatibility with Liferay 7.4.
  • Leverage your expertise in Java 8 features to optimize code efficiency and functionality.

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience leading Liferay DXP upgrade projects, ideally from versions 7.1, 7.2, or 7.3 to 7.4.
  • Strong understanding of Liferay DXP architecture, modules, themes, hooks, and JSP fragments.
  • Experience in developing and customizing Liferay themes using Liferay APIs and best practices.
  • Solid foundation in Java programming with a focus on Java 8 features.
  • UI Technologies (Optional but beneficial)
  • Experience with Liferay UI technologies like AUI, JQuery, ClayUI, React, and Freemarker.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
