Marine Superintendent – Bulk Carriers
(Based in Mumbai, Andheri)

ORGANIZATION:
Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will be a key member in the shore team. To support their growth strategy, our client is hiring

Marine Superintendents in Mumbai for two positons :
Marine Superintendent, QHSE

  • Role involves conducting shipboard audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and providing safety and quality related training to officers and crew.
Marine Superintendent, Operations

– Role involves managing the operations and performance of vessels assigned. Your key role is to ensure efficient and safe operations of the company's Dry vessels, quality management, and ensure that all international maritime requirements are adhered.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
For the Audit, QHSE role
Key responsibilities include conducting internal audits and QHSE inspections on ships, investigating incidents and near misses.
Reviewing risk assessments, assisting with documentation updates, monitoring vessels at critical ports and issuing work permits.
Providing safety and QHSE related training to officers and crew onboard and ashore.
Revising QHSE manuals, preparing safety bulletins, managing emergencies, and participating in safety campaigns.
For the Dry Operations role
Providing support to the vessel to ensure safety of the cargo, navigation, and other marine operational matters.
Monitor bulk carrier cargo loading, discharging, and carriage in consultation with vessel and owners.
Oversee hold cleaning operations, ballasting, and de-ballasting in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
Monitor weather and route planning to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Develop and implement voyage plans to maximize cargo capacity and minimize fuel consumption.
Coordinate with vessel crews and shore-based teams to ensure smooth operations.

Planning and allocation of resources, setting processes, implementing improvement plans in a rigorous and structured way for planned and routine maintenance of the ships under your charge.

Provide technical support and guidance to vessel crews as needed.
Manage budgeting and cost control for assigned vessels.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

YOUR PROFILE:
You must be a qualified Master Mariner(FGN).
At least 1-2 years of experience working as a Marine Superintendent in Operations or QHSE managing Bulk Carrier Vessels.
Minimum 12 months of sailing experience as a Master on Bulk Carrier Vessels is a must

.
Possess Shipboard ISM / ISPS code, Marine insurance, and Seamanship knowledge.
People oriented and passionate about developing shipboard teams.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively with any stakeholder.
Well updated with the latest regulatory requirements and its implementation.
