  • Generally assigned to complexcomponents, sub-assemblies and systems. Assignments may includeprograms with new customers, the introduction of new operatingprocedures and the product delivery process (CAAPD).
  • Coordinate the complete development for the designatedproducts including, but not limited to design, build and testactivities, in accordance with standard operating procedures andthe product delivery process (CAAPD).
  • Keycustomer interface (internal and external) who can successfullynegotiate and influence design direction for optimum feasibilityand cost.
  • Helps define and incorporatecustomer requirements, and product specifications into the designof the designated products, ensuring compliance with operational,cost, timing, safety, reliability, quality and manufacturingfeasibility parameters and government regulations
  • Analyze products and formulates engineering conclusionsby the application of engineering and/or mathematical principlesand tools. Applies Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Failure Mode& Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE),Pugh Analysis, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE), and Designfor Manufacturing/Design for Assembly (DFM/DFA) in the developmentof the product.
  • Write/compile engineeringcontent for the following deliverables: engineering specificationsand documentation, including DVP&Rs, 8D's,GD&T, BOM, prototype control plans, key productcharacteristics, engineering changes and work orders.
  • Consult and collaborate with personnel in variousengineering and design activities relative to product developmentrequirements. Conducts effective communications within the projectteam and the customer, supplier, manufacturing and qualitycommunities with guidance from engineering management and seniorengineering personnel. Maintains all appropriatedocumentation.
  • Provide engineering directionand support to design personnel.
  • Review andapprove engineering designs. Review, approve, complete, and submitrequired change notices to ensure design outputs meet designinputs.
  • Independently prioritize thecompletion of tasks and resolution of issues to ensure complianceto program deliverables. Contribute to the development of projecttiming and set targets to manage release of product deliverablesper Master Timing Plan.
  • Maintain GoodHousekeeping of the area
  • Ensure adherence tocompany, departmental and health and safety systems and policies tomeet legislative requirements.
  • SupportsInternal / External Audit efforts regarding ISO 9001:2015, IATF16949 Certification for remote site location (GroupOffice).
  • Identify special productcharacteristics (critical, significant, pass-through,process).
  • Able to travel at least 25%,including possible international travel
