Position Summary

At Heads Up For Tails, we see editing as visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires.

We are looking for a highly creative motion designer who can create visual stories for ads, social media and UX.


Collaborating with multiple teams at our company, the editor should be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into video deliverables.


Responsibilities:

  • Edit and interpret the footage to create content, ads, motion graphics and brand communications
  • Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams or clients for a wide range of video materials, communication, gifs and marketing materials.
  • Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various computer software to visualize and develop innovative videos that meet business goals.
  • Obtain input from management, ensuring the deliverable meets organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company or client appropriately.
  • Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with marketing team, meeting deadlines and budget constraints, and scheduling project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects.
  • Examine existing processes, identifying flaws and creating solutions to improve video content.
  • Update and maintain internal databases of videos.
  • Create motion graphics and inculcate graphic design into videos.
  • Visual story from the given brief and can think outside the box.
  • Work on projects through from the storyboard stage to final animation.
  • Create and deliver motion graphics for various media.
  • Create high impact designs, illustrations and highly engaging animations and videos.
  • Work with editors, designers to resolve technical and/or design issues.
  • In animation, simplify complicated interactions and solve challenging problems.
  • Staying up to date on the latest graphic design techniques.
  • Curiosity to learn & explore things outside your domain of expertise.
  • Collaborative by nature, but you can also work solo when you need to get down to work.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

  • 3 years of related professional experience or a really strong portfolio.
  • Expertise with Adobe suite such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Figma with understanding of 2D & 3D animation & render techniques.
  • Handson production of high quality and realistically rendered graphics and scenarios, with a thorough understanding of pacing and animation principles.
  • Creative approach and storytelling skills.
  • Willingness to stretch and go beyond the normal standards of schedule and expectations.
  • Good understanding of scene assembly.
  • Experience creating motion graphics and/or social media edits.
  • You must have prior experience as a Motion Graphics Designer as well as a strong portfolio of sample projects.
  • A visual storyteller, you know how to communicate through images. This means you are a capable designer, illustrator, and storyboarder.
  • You love animation regardless of the tool. However strong knowledge of Adobe After Effects is a must.
