We are part of the Data Ingest value stream with RFT, responsible for delivering group wide data to global platforms which support our Business Partners in Risk, Finance and Treasury. We provide data services to support financial, regulatory and tax reporting to global and local regulators, to internal clients, and to shareholders.

Automate, Automate, Automate Key Responsibilities Work with our clients to deliver value through the delivery of high-quality software within an agile development lifecycle (Essential SAFe). Work as part of a delivery team, collaborating with business and others to understand requirements, analyze and refine stories, design solutions, implement them, test them and support them in production Apply Domain Driven Design techniques, collaborating closely with business, users, analysts, developers and other testers. Make sure we are building the right thing Define and evolve the architecture of the components you are working on and contribute to architectural decisions at a department and bank-wide level. Write code and write it well. Be proud to call yourself a programmer. Use test first development methodology, write clean code and refactor constantly and be very happy to pair program with everyone. Basically, make sure we are building the right thing. Bring deep industry knowledge into the Feature Team to understand problems, leverage design patterns, automation to support a CI and CD pipeline to production and support emergent design within the agreed domain target architecture. Contribute to the wider domain goals to ensure flow, consistent standards and approach to software development while designing to a common shared framework. Work with the right and robust engineering practices.

Additionally, the role will include management and leadership responsibilities, such as:

Your skills and experience

12 – 15 years of experience in the IT industry with of how to build and test software in a modern, agile, lean and engineering-driven environment with hands on experience in one or more of the following. Deep knowledge and hands-on experience of Java and at least one additional modern programming language – Scala or Python). Should be able to work with both functional and OO concepts. Experience with technologies that store, transport and manipulate data, for example: relational databases, NoSQL, document databases, HDFS, caching, data access virtualization, streaming and messaging. Required Experience : in Spark, Hadoop, Hive, XML processing with XSLT, Apache Flume, PIG, Cloudera ecosystem. Required Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot, ORM technologies like Hibernate and its deployment using Docker Web Services experience e.g. REST / SOAP. Experience in frameworks such as Apache Camel, DropWizard. Experience with Service Orientated Architecture and Microservices (especially using Spring Boot) Experience in messaging brokers like IBM MQ, Active MQ or Kafka. Experience with orchestration tools such as Oozie Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) including testing frameworks (Junit, Cucumber, Selenium). Experience of delivering within an agile delivery framework. Experience with distributed version control tool (Git, Github, BitBucket). Experience: Jenkins, Team City, UDeploy Desirable experience in Scala, Python. Desirable experience developing on OpenShift Container Platform or Public Cloud. For internal candidates: Experience with EAP, DAP and Fabric is a must along with knowledge of the entire SDLC process via SNOW

Education/ Qualifications

We are happy to consider those with a wide variety of educational backgrounds and qualifications. While a degree in computer science is beneficial, as would qualifications in STEM or other numerate disciplines. We also look favourably upon those with equivalent practical experience. This could have be gained in the workplace or in other contexts, such as contributing to open source software or working on personal projects. Educated to degree level in Computer / Data Science or equivalent qualification or work experience.
