About The Position and Our Team :

  • As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in protecting our organization's systems, applications, and data from cyber threats. Daily, you will work closely with other IT teams to design, implement, and manage security solutions that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our network infrastructure.
  • Your primary responsibilities will include working with the Director of Information Security and DevOps Team to assist in securing our organization. You will monitor systems and networks for potential security threats and vulnerabilities, and proactively take steps to prevent cyber-attacks. You will also work with other IT teams to implement security policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • In addition to your daily operational duties, you will also be involved in security projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing our organization's overall security posture. This may include conducting security assessments to identify weaknesses in our network infrastructure, recommending remediation actions, and implementing new security technologies and tools.
  • As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in cybersecurity and network security technologies. You will be responsible for evaluating new security solutions and technologies and recommending those that are best suited for our organization's needs. In the event of a security incident, you will be responsible for assisting in the response to quickly mitigate the impact and assist with forensic investigations as needed.
Responsibilities :
  • Develop and maintain security policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze system/network logs and dashboards to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct regular security assessments to identify weaknesses in our network infrastructure and recommend remediation actions.
  • Ensure systems are following best practices related to configuration and hardening.
  • Assist with vulnerability scans and remediation guidance.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure the timely resolution of security-related issues.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in cybersecurity and network security technologies.
  • Respond to security incidents and assist with forensic investigations as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills Required :

Must Have :
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • At least 3 years of experience in network security engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, routing, switching, and network security technologies.
  • Strong experience with next-gen firewalls, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Redhat Linux (or clone) and Debian based Linux system administration.
  • Understanding of security compliance standards such as NIST, PCI DSS, and HIPAA.
  • Familiar with system hardening, both STIG and CIS Benchmarks.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Windows Server system administration.
  • Experience with other security solutions such as IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and endpoint security.
Nice To Have :
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science.
  • The following certifications are a plus: CISSP, CISA, Security+, CCNA, CCNP.
  • Previous SOC experience.
