Job Description:

>> The PD and R engineer at Planys Technologies plays a crucial role in various areas, such as,

  • carrying out research and development,
  • standardizing processes,
  • scaling up for commercial deployment,
  • conducting product and payload surveys, and
  • collaborating with OEMs and inspection service providers.

This role revolves around NDT techniques, survey methods, and related payloads for robotic platforms.

>> The engineer will lead projects involving multiple departments within Planys and external partners, focusing on activities like,

  • utilizing NDT techniques like ultrasonics, electromagnetics, and acoustics,
  • implementing survey methods such as bathymetry, imaging sonars, and more,
  • exploring vision-based modalities including Laser and Lidar technologies.

>> Responsibilities also include performing literature reviews, numerical and experimental work, organizing field trials, and managing pilot projects for innovative inspection systems.

>> The engineer will collaborate with internal departments to ensure project feasibility, contribute to design, procurement activities, and create training material for field engineers.

>> Furthermore, they will be involved in publishing papers, presenting at conferences, and supporting project delivery and post-sales activities, including product and service improvements.

>> Daily tasks also involve managing existing product lines, identifying areas for enhancement, and aiding in the development of processes and SOPs.

>> In addition, the engineer will lead implementation projects, oversee logistical and technical aspects, interact with end-users, develop operation procedures, and prepare detailed project reports.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong fundamentals in mathematics, physics, and programming,
  • Experience with numerical, analytical, and experimental studies,
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Previous experience in team and project management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Post-graduate degree in Technology with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Working Model: On-site work based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
