Responsible for originating and producing stories, filming, editing and producing a range of video, audio and digital content for BBC audiences for website, social platforms, TV and podcast to the highest professional standards.
Required to work with editorial and planning teams.Required to film and edit material for broadcast where appropriate, including long and short form programming, outside broadcasts, online, newsgathering in the field, live or recorded, often edited in the field, to feed material back to base, utilising the latest technology.
May be required to travel at short notice, therefore flexibility is essential.Relevant craft skills (camera work, lighting editing) are essential, together with excellent digital journalism knowledge.
Must be able to operate current broadcast technical equipment on location and at base, demonstrating a well-developed sense of visual awareness and a willingness to learn how to use new technology and kit.
Broad understanding of the target audience is important.Proficiency in written Hindi and a basic understanding of English is essential.

Deliver journalism of the highest standard and within the required timeframe using available resources.
Delivering to tight deadlines while maintaining the highest editorial standards.

Knowledge, skills, training and experience
Essential :
High standard of editorial judgment, writing ability and production skills based on substantial broadcast journalism experience.
Maximises opportunities offered by existing and emerging technologies to their fullest extent.
Ability to work effectively as a member of more than one team. Resolving conflicts as necessary.
Ability to manage resources, staff, technical facilities and budgets, in order to make challenging broadcasting in the most cost effective manner.
Demonstrates a commitment to improving diversity and understands how individual differences can benefit the organization.Prioritises and plans activities taking into account all the relevant issues and factors such as deadlines, staffing and resources.
Flexibility and adaptability to sustain performance, particularly under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities and circumstances.
Sound understanding of health and safety procedures and how they apply to newsgathering.
