Position Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality control testing of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished pharmaceutical products.
  • Conduct sampling and analysis of raw materials, ensuring compliance with established specifications.
  • Utilize analytical instruments, such as HPLC, UV spectrophotometer, FTIR, for analysis and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good laboratory practices (GLP) during testing activities.
  • Record and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of testing procedures, results, and observations.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including production, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to address qualityrelated issues.
  • Participate in the qualification and validation of analytical methods and equipment.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of deviations, nonconformances, and outofspecification results.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in pharmaceutical quality control.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment in the QC laboratory.

Requirements:

  • A Bsc. / Msc. qualification is required.
  • Two to Three years of experience in Pharmaceutical QC activities is necessary.
  • Proficiency in performing sampling, raw material analysis, and utilizing instrumentation such as HPLC, UV spectrophotometer, FTIR, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, SOPs, and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and interpret data.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other analytical software.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills to address quality issues and implement appropriate actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory audits and inspections in Uganda, such as those conducted by the National Drug Authority (NDA), is preferred.
