Part of Zebra's worldwide Regulatory Department, this specialist role involves working closely with Government agencies, Test Labs, Industry Bodies, authorized representatives, and other partners to ensure an optimized process securing India certifications required for import and sale. The outcome will ensure successful certifications (BIS, WPC, TEC etc) across our Data Capture Solutions, Enterprise Mobile Computing and Asset Tracking Solutions.

The Regulatory Specialist must have a thorough working knowledge of technical specifications, compliance testing procedures and approval process.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply in depth experience to e nsure optimal process is applied for all India certifications, leveraging in te rnational test standards and reports where possible.
  • Liaising with in country test labs and other SMEs within the worldwide department as necessary.
  • Developing trust and respect with the authorities to accelerate review processes as necessary.
  • Staying up to date with new technologies and requirements is paramount.
  • Monitor for new or changing requirements that could impact Zebra products and report by presenting to the Business Units, Program Management and Engineering to ensure successful compliance on new products.
  • As our India certification SME, support and advice shall be provided to other worldwide department members as necessary.
  • Ensure Regulatory Process Documents are continuously developed, improved and maintained to support India.
  • Support India Sales requests for product availability where possible.
  • Support customs queries regarding the import of certified products
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical performance experience
  • 8+ years related experience Regulatory Department, this specialist role involves working closely with Government agencies, Test Labs, Industry Bodies, authorized representatives.

  • Technical competence with strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact with professionals and management to gather and disseminate information. Knowledge of Regulatory standards.
  • Program Management skills including ability to generate and review test plans, schedules and budgets.
  • Able to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment across many geographical boundaries and time zones
  • Experience interacting with customers, certification bodies and test labs.
  • Ability to multi-task, assign and manage priorities in a shifting environment on multiple programs
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English - spoken and written

Travel Requirements (as a % of time): 20%
