MISSION
To carry out HW product design to ensure the technical and functional feasibility of the products, providing support to the project teams, with the objective of reaching the cost, quality and timing goals established by management.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Along with the Master in Design, ensure the product's technical feasibility during the bid and development stages, in accordance with Ficosa's Development System/Idneo Development System (FDS/IDS) methodology.
Cooperate with manufacturing teams in product industrialization.
Ensure that prototypes are developed and delivered per the plans defined with the client.
Participate in product and process FMEAs.
Revise designs under the supervision of the Master in Design.
Effectively manage product modifications during development.
With the Quality Design Engineer, analyze the results of the product technical test reports, and find the necessary technical countermeasure solutions.
Ensure optimum use of standardized solutions in all product development processes for all business unit clients.Support the competitiveness of the business unit by improving costs, quality and product function performance, and adopting new technical progress solutions coming from competitors' analyses and benchmarking.
Cooperate with Purchasing dept. and suppliers to ensure optimization of components in terms of cost, quality and manufacturability.Support the generation of all the Electronic Design delivery documents:
Electrical BOM part list (maximizing the Standard Part list selection), Schematics and PCB (Printed Circuit board) Layout CAD Design, (with the assistance of the ECAD technician), related Manufacturing Standard Docs (for Adjustment, Testing, Quality Inspection).Meet all the EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and Safety Approval criteria, based on the pre-agreed customer standard.
Meet all Electronic Reliability (Temperature, Electricity Static Discharge - ESD, Derating) criteria, based on the pre-agreed customer quality standard.Observe Ficosa's Code of Ethics to avoid fraudulent practices. Comply with Information Security Management System (ISMS) applicable to the job, along with the training related thereto.
Actively cooperate in maintaining, promoting and improving the OSHE and Quality department.(*) The duties described are only the most typical of this position and are in no way a comprehensive list.(**) The scope of responsibilities may be enlarged according to the specific responsibilities of the roles that this position can undertake in the project.

Academic background:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, mainly in electronics or telecommunications
Experience:
Minimum of 2-4 years in a similar positionOTHER SPECIFICATIONS
Additional training:
Knowledge of R&D Tools (FDS/IDS, problem solving, FMEA, etc), HW ToolsKnowledge of HW architecture and embedded systems (SPI, I2C, etc)Schematic design with AltiumLow-power DC/DC converter designDigital Image Sensor ExperienceKnowledge of Video Displays and/or any video standard knowledge (MIPI, Broadreach, FPDLINk, HDMI, DVI, CVBS)Programming in C, C++, Linux, LabView and/or low-level language is of additional valueFPGA with VHDL programming is of high additional valueMechanical system design or Optics Design knowledge/Interest is of additional valueAdditional language:
