Job Description
  • Product Design and Development: Collaborate with design teams to develop specifications and design concepts for heavy equipment, considering factors such as performance, durability, and manufacturability.
  • Manufacturing Process Optimization: Implement lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques to streamline production processes, improve efficiency, and reduce lead times.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure that heavy equipment meets performance standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Materials Selection and Testing: Evaluate materials for use in heavy equipment manufacturing, considering factors such as strength, durability, and cost. Conduct material testing and analysis to ensure suitability for intended applications.
  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Work with production planners to develop schedules, allocate resources, and coordinate production activities to meet deadlines and production targets.
  • Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to source components and materials for heavy equipment manufacturing. Evaluate supplier performance and implement strategies to improve quality, cost, and delivery reliability.
  • Prototype Testing and Validation: Oversee prototype testing and validation activities to ensure that designs meet performance and safety requirements. Analyze test data and feedback to make design improvements as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and innovation in heavy equipment manufacturing. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, and competitiveness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements governing the design, manufacture, and operation of heavy equipment.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to production teams, resolving manufacturing issues, and implementing solutions to improve product quality and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications may be preferred.
  • Proven experience in heavy equipment manufacturing or a related industry, with a strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for product design and manufacturing process optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, lean manufacturing principles, and regulatory requirements applicable to heavy equipment manufacturing.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, technicians, and production personnel.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Requirements
