You will have the responsibility to collaborate with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on the collective full stack ownership of various services and/or technology domains. Gain insight into the end-to-end setup, technical interdependencies, and overall operational traits of production services. Lead the design and provision of the crucially significant stack, emphasizing security, resilience, scale, and performance. Hold the authority for comprehensive performance and operability. Collaborate with development teams to define and implement enhancements in service architecture. Clearly articulate the technical attributes of services and technology domains and steer Development Teams in engineering exceptional capabilities for the Oracle Cloud service suite. Comprehend and convey the scale, capacity, security, performance characteristics, and requisites of the service and technology stack. Demonstrate a profound grasp of automation and orchestration principles. Serve as the ultimate customer escalation point for intricate or critical issues not yet documented in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Apply an in-depth understanding of service topology and their interdependencies for issue resolution and mitigation definition. Comprehend and elucidate the ramifications of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Showcase professional inquisitiveness and a drive to cultivate a profound comprehension of services and technologies.

In addition, you will contribute to the OHAI roadmap, aiding in propelling the evolution of our products as we commence migrating them to OCI platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Projects to enhance the availability, scalability, security, performance, and efficiency of our cloud service.
  • Drive and actively engage in resolving intricate technical issues spanning multiple Cloud services, striving to uphold service availability objectives by formulating solutions to complex problems and incidents.
  • Serve as a trusted technical consultant to customers and tackle advanced Infrastructure and DevOps challenges.
  • Formulate and provide best practices recommendations, sample code, and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to simplifying our infrastructure, making it secure, reliable, and easy to manage.
  • Establish monitoring infrastructure criteria (SLIs, SLOs).
  • Address complex and challenging problems, establishing automation to avert problem recurrence.
  • Take part in incident management, operational/security upkeep, software performance analysis, and system optimization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of professional experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or equivalent role.
  • 3+ years of Linux proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree/master's degree (Information Technology/ Computer System Engineering).
  • 2+ years' experience and practical knowledge in Python, Perl and/or Shell Scripting.
  • Experience managing productions on UNIX platforms (RHEL, OEL).
  • Cloud familiarity in IaaS (infrastructure as code IaaC, Configuration as code).
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools like Shepherd and Terraform.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD Platforms and elements such as OKE, Jenkins and Splat.
  • Competence in Source Control Systems.
