TE Connectivity's Digital Experience teams set digital product, feature and user experience strategies, prioritizing capabilities and delivery to drive ROI, focusing on customer research, online features/services, and user experience, including content strategy, interaction and visual design, contributing significantly to the overarching digital strategy as well as multi-channel Brand experience strategy.

They direct and define an engaging and valuable experience for TE's customers, collaborating with key partners (business, technology, marketing, etc.) to ensure that the integrity of the user experience is maintained during development through launch and appropriate plans and processes are in place to maintain and scale those experiences as appropriate.

They partner with team members to define, track and test capabilities in an agile development life cycle and perform industry research as necessary to support feature definition and development.

The team members have experience with responsive design, designing large scale websites, working with 3rd party agencies, agile practices including working with a product owner framework or similar function, creating/maintaining a Product/Feature backlog to prioritize capabilities for implementation, and the ability to define and clearly communicate detailed business requirements.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The User Experience Designer will provide thoughtleadership and expertise, and lead design initiatives by delivering across a broad range of user experience deliverables.
  • Participating in initial strategy sessions to help identify and set direction for achieving project objectives
  • Partnering with Business Unit Leads, Product Managers and other stakeholders in Marketing, Business ,and Technology to understand their unique goals, objectives, and challenges.
  • Leading creation of user experience deliverables including user flows, information architecture & page layout, interaction design, content strategy, copywriting and visual designs; ensuring consistency of vision and fluid integration of each deliverable.
  • Defining strategy for user research, concept and usability testing, and use of rapid prototyping tools
  • Collaborating closely with product management and experience design team to ensure successful, timely delivery of each experience design deliverable
  • Ability to work both independently and in a crossfunctional global team across timezones
  • Accountable and dependable but knows when to ask for help
  • Attention to detail and mastery of information design
  • Ability to quickly learn new software tools and platforms
  • Ability to adapt to change and work though ambiguity.

Competencies And Experience Required/Desired:

  • Handson experience with design deliverables discovery findings, heuristic evaluations, information architecture, experience strategy concepts, user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, interaction specifications/annotations, etc.
  • Handson Experience with planning and conducting user research such as indepthinterviews, usability testing and concept testing; leading to actionable insights and recommendations
  • Strong leadership and skills to provide clear direction and to motivate and inspire creative/production team
  • Ability to engage in a creative, highly collaborative design process with cross functional and cross cultural business and technology teams
  • Foresight to design for today's MVP but with data and research to provide a path towards the ultimate experience
  • Strong negotiation and issue resolution skills
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders, business solutions teams, and creative teams
  • Excellent leadership, relationship management, presentation and communications skills that establish trust, credibility, and respect
  • Ability to converse with and influence key internal constituents including business partners and other coworkers with whom no direct reporting relationship exist
  • A strategic thinker with strong planning and execution abilities who is flexible and can balance competing demands while working in a dynamic organization
  • Strong UX/UI design portfolio that clearly communicates the problem(s) being solved, your role/responsibilities for the project, insights gathered that informed the solution, how the solution solved the problem(s), and any results or lessons learned

Design Skill Requirements:

  • Knowledge of design software like Adobe Create Suite, Sketch, Zeplin, Axure RP, and Miro
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and JavaScript
  • Excellent computer knowledge for both MAC and PC environments
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
  • Experience with JIRA, Asana, or other work tracking system a plus
  • Experience with analytics platforms like Adobe Analytics a plus
