Role ProfileThe Electrification Core engineering team requires experienced Electrical Engineers to apply world-class design and analysis skillsto improve JaguarLand Rover's capability to deliver the next generation of HV Systems.

The objective is to deliverlevels of reliability and robustness into the Electricand Hybrid propulsion systems, exceeding anythingthat we have seen before by using the latesttools and best practice Engineering Techniques.


Key Responsibilities:

Electrical/Electronics SME for the HV power electronics systemsTechnical knowledge and understanding of chargers, converters, Inverters, Machines, Mechanical, Thermals, EMI/EMC, BatteriesDevelop power electronics product from concept through to product deliveryEmbedded Hardware development for power electronics including Analog and Digital designsVerification and Validation testing of power electronics productHigh power semiconductor devices comparative analysis and simulationsLead electrical modelling activities related to power electronics system components and integration of powertrain components/convertersModelling and analysis of physical, and thermals aspects of HV SystemsGenerate and review/refine the system-level architecture of various BEV platformsSupport Quality work such as DFMEA and Functional Safety activities.

Support requirement engineering and verify the system-level requirements.

Support the resolution of cross-functional technical / manufacturing issues using a Global 8D processEnsure robust timing plans are met to achieve Program milestones and targets(Quality, Cost, Functionality, Weight, and timing).Lead suppliers through the design phase of their electronics to meet JLR design and test specifications through the Guidelines Review and Development of Electronics process(GRADE).


Skills, experience and qualificationsEssential:

Master's Degree in Power Electronics /Power Systems/Electric Drives/allied branches of engineeringMinimum 10 years of power electronics product development /engineering experience in the automotive or transportation/ aerospace domainExcellent Technicalpresentation skills, articulate at drawing electrical schematics and diagrams.

A knowledge of typical BEV, MHEV and PHEVsystem solutions and technologies.
Experience of complex power electronics high-voltage systems.
Experience specifying and designing low voltage, high voltage and control hardwareincluding an understanding of typical characteristics and protective systemsrequired.
Understanding of regulatory needs applicable to BEV and PHEV solutions.
Handson Experience in Board bring up Activities.

Expertise on Infineon Aurix / STM / TI/ Atmel/ Microchip / any other family-based controllers requiredExperience in Low level driver development for module ADC, DMA, for Infineon AURIX & STM family and for external peripherals IC like, Gate driver IC'sDevelop a testing strategy and test methods, executing testing on the base software on development boards and target hardware.

A workingknowledge of the design and release processKnowledge of System Modelling (MATLAB, PLECS, PSIM)Strong peopleskills and the ability to work individually and in a crossfunctional teamExcellent communication and presentation skills.

Have designed the HV System for at least one vehicle application and will have experienced putting the design into production.

Good appreciation of designfor the automotive environment.
An appreciation of system level issuesand software is required

Desired:
Ph. D in Electrical EngineeringFunctional Safety knowledge (ISO26262)Familiarity with RMDV or DOORS.Product launchexperience.
Experience of TRM process.
Understanding of control systemshardware, including sensor technology, controlsoftware and diagnostics.
Experience of defining and/orusing appropriate analysistools to optimizeand verify thermalperformance and hardware reliability/ durability.
