Job Summary:
A Logistics Engineer is responsible for leading and/or supporting the Facility engineering projects in region for our distribution centers (For both greenfield and Brownfield projects).
Projects are specific to construction, renovation related to enhancing working environment, modernization, latest fire safety compliance etc with the understanding of warehouse logistics solutions.
Along with handling Facility engineering projects, this role will also be supporting in design and set up of warehouse logistics projects such as automated and/or conventional storage and handling system.
What You Will Do:
To be successful, a Logistics Engineer must utilize technical and soft skills to lead the following activity described below.
· Logistics facilities site selection
· Greenfield facility layout preparation considering setbacks, Roads, parking, offices etc
· Supplier selection for construction
· Technical review of the supplier solution
· Installed wall and roof selection.
· New Flooring or replacement of existing flooring
· Fire safety solutions.
· HVAC
· Primary and Secondary Power
· Sustainable building practices like Solar
· Understanding of Local regulations for construction of any facilities
· Understanding of Local regulations for conducting any repair work in any existing building
In addition, it is expected that logistics engineer is knowledgeable about the warehousing logistics solution and its impact on building design such as floor loading capacity etc.
In addition to technical skills, a Logistics Engineer must demonstrate intermediate to strong skilled levels of the following values-based competencies (VBCs): integrity & trust; building inclusive relationships; customer focus; problem solving; priority setting; and dealing with uncertainty. Although the requirements above describe most of the responsibilities of the analyst, due to the breadth of challenges that arise on projects, it is sometimes expected that a Logistics Engineer take on other responsibilities outside of this job description.
What You Have:
· College degree in Civil Engineering, industrial or mechanical engineering
· Willingness to travel up to 50% of domestics and/or international travel throughout the year
· Be proficient in English.
· 5+ years in Warehouse construction /Facilities setup experience
· Strong PC Skills (Excel, MS projects, PowerPoint, & AutoCAD)
