Job overview and responsibilities

The Technical Manager plays a crucial role in creating and maintaining the strategic partnership between business needs and technology delivery. This individual will be responsible for delivering Cargo projects and supporting objectives by managing staff, planning, and evaluating department activities. Responsibilities include hiring, training, motivating, and coaching employees, overseeing work duties to ensure productivity needs are met. The Technical Manager leads a team of developers and analysts, providing mentorship to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient systems and solutions. Communication, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities are key to identifying and resolving issues to maximize IT and Business investments. The role involves supervising a team of developers, software design during SDLC phases, serving as a technical lead on projects, participating in Agile Scrum processes, conducting software design meetings, coding, unit testing, and collaborating with the onshore team and Business.

  • Responsible for software development during the design/build phases of the SDLC
  • Perform as a technical lead on development projects
  • Supervise a team of developers and analysts
  • Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of development methodologies and software design
  • Work with Agile Scrum Masters and Product Owners
  • Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs
  • Ensure in-progress builds align with approved designs
  • Conduct coding, unit testing, and peer reviews
  • Mentor the team and provide leadership as needed

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and employment visa sponsorships will not be provided. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in design, development, testing, and debugging of software systems
  • Experience as a manager or Technical lead
  • 5+ years' experience in software and Web Application development
  • 5+ years managing high-performance software development teams
  • 2+ years managing onshore/offshore delivery
  • Full stack software engineer with knowledge of various technologies
  • Experience with AWS services and DevOps practices
  • Proficiency in Software Development best practices
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Legally authorized to work in India without sponsorship
  • Completion of interview required
  • Reliable attendance is essential

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Airlines industry experience
  • Experience with Functional Programming
