Good knowledgeof MsSQL on Windows Server

Some experience onPostgres SQL is preferred.

The role requiresbelow responsibilities

Database user accountmanagement:

DB accountcreation

Grant access rights on SYS and nonSYSobjects

Permission on folders log/trace files toApps DBA

Define and manage userprofiles/policies

Database Softwaremaintenance:

Implement database patches innonproduction and production environment; execute test plan androllback if necessary.

DatabaseMonitoring:

Monitor database log files forerrors.

Monitor database components affectingconnectivity e.g. listeners process andlog.

Monitor databasebackups

Monitor database related OS/networkparameters

Monitor free space availability on thedatabase server

Manage DatabaseCapacity:

Monitor growth rate of database objectsand proactively resolve space relatederrors.

Monitor RDBMS log files and archive themin a timely fashion

Monitor mount points to keepfree space available on which RDBMS files and database files arelocated.

Relocate physical database objects forexample datafile index UNDO files as necessary to manage space onthe server.

Manage DatabaseAvailability:

Ensure availability ofinstance/database listeners log files space of log files and otherRDBMS related processes.

DatabaseMaintenance:

Perform reindexing as necessary toimprove database performance.

Generate statisticsas needed for improved program

Tune databaseparameters to improved performance

ManageDatabase Backup and Recovery:

Plan and executebackup and recovery process for production and nonproductiondatabases by utilizing Customer s backupinfrastructure.

Troubleshoot database backupissues

Perform database restore from backup asrequested by Customer

Database High Availabilitymanagement:

Provide support for databasereplication technologies.

Performrefresh/cloning/rebuilding of database

Createnew database/instance;

Database softwareinstallation:

Estimate size and create directorystructure on the server for RDBMSinstallation

Install and configure databasesoftware
