Job Summary:
Our Office is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to join our finance team.

The individual will play a crucial role in managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data to uphold the financial integrity of the Diocese.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial records and documents in accordance with established accounting practices and policies.
  • Assist in the processing of receipts and payments, ensuring accurate data entry into the accounting system.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts to ensure accurate bookkeeping.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets, financial reports, and statements as required.
  • Process and verify transaction details in ledgers, including income and expenditure.
  • Aid in the collation and input of data for payroll processing and maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Support the Accounts Department with the preparation for audits and liaise with auditors as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with state and church financial regulations and adhere to financial confidentiality.
  • Handle routine correspondence and queries related to accounting matters.
  • Support the finance team with clerical tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and handling mail.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of all financial matters.
  • Participate in financial and administrative meetings to stay updated with the policies and guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A diploma or degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Clerk or similar role.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of basic bookkeeping procedures and knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clergy, staff, and the lay community.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning financial and employee information.
  • Willingness to learn the specific financial processes and requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement abilities.

Salary:
From ₹12,000.00 per month
