Primary Function :



In this role, you'll be required to work closely with Software Engineers in an Agile fashion to identify issues early and deliver high-quality features.

You'll play a key role in planning activities, designing test frameworks and tools for test automation as well as creating automated test cases.

Here you'll have the opportunity to work with Cypress in a micro architecture environment. Ideally, you come from an engineering background and have excellent programming skills in JavaScript/NodeJS

Principal Duties & Responsibilities :

This role will be :

  • Part of a multi-disciplinary agile team
  • Defining software quality assurance processes
  • Making test automation tooling choices
  • Making quality an integral part of the development process
  • Custodian of quality and making sure non-functional and information security testing are not an afterthought in the software development life-cycle
  • Working in an agile fashion and a promoter of agile (iterative) thinking
  • Proactively interacting with stakeholders to understand requirements and subsequently translate them into stories with acceptance criteria
  • Developing use cases and translate these for usage in automated regression testing
  • Ensuring that a high level of data accuracy and integrity is maintained
  • Keeping up-to-date with new releases and promptly identifying features which could add value to users.
  • Identify features which will impact existing processes and require urgent attention
  • Working with the development team troubleshooting issues raised by users to provide prompt resolution.
  • Support junior members of the team
  • Any other duties the company deem appropriate in the change of business circumstances.


Preferred Education & Experience :


  • Excellent understanding of automation framework
  • Good experience with Cypress, Selenium or CucumberJS (Cypress preferred)
  • BDD experience
  • CI tools - Jenkins or similar
  • Good understanding of performance and stress testing tools
  • Excellent programming experience with JavaScript
  • Understanding of Agile software development
  • Github or Bitbucket
  • Understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Understanding of Lambda functions
  • Micro service architecture
  • Understanding of Docker
  • Mocha / Karma / Chai or similar assertion library
  • Ideally coming from an eCommerce background
Work Environment : Collaborates closely with other members of the Zoro team and Grainger companies.
