PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:

To Innovatively create what comes next. Join the inventory planning function transformation at Northern Tool, catering to millions of customers through Retail and Online channels, to offer a seamless customer journey.

The inventory planning lead in India will attract top talent and deliver quality outcomes collaborating with the supply chain leadership team to enhance efficiencies, capability, and optimize inventory planning processes.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supervise, mentor, and guide inventory (including inventory planners and data analytics) team members to implement Northern Tool + Equipment's inventory strategy.
  • Analyze, refine, and implement inventory procurement processes in alignment with goals and targets.
  • Define execution strategies and devise monitoring tools and methods (reports and KPIs) to monitor current performance, trends, and proactively identify and address issues.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to enhance team productivity, reduce inventory, and implement cost-saving strategies, while overseeing financial objectives to ensure smooth product flow, inventory optimization, and high in-stock levels across all sales channels.
  • Collaborate with the merchandising team to strategize inventory requirements based on sales projections.
  • Track performance metrics using E3 and JD Edwards reporting tools.
  • Achieve set benchmarks on inventory management such as forecasting accuracy, mail order fill rate, retail transfer fill rate, service level goal achievement, and inventory precision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups to boost supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Exhibit Northern Tool's core values and competencies.
  • Effectively communicate with the team to ensure alignment and responsibility; promote a culture of continuous enhancement.
  • Create and implement personal development and performance plans for team members and oversee execution of core job competencies and training plans.
  • Keep supervisors updated on significant developments, potential issues, and pertinent information necessary for efficient management. Coordinate and communicate plans and activities with relevant stakeholders to ensure a cohesive team effort.
  • Undertake additional assigned responsibilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in merchandising or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant purchasing/inventory management experience.
  • Familiarity with hard line tools and equipment.
  • Strong organizational aptitude is essential.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduling form.
  • Proficient in PC skills, adept at spreadsheet development, and familiar with specified software packages.
  • Possesses E3 experience with silver level certification or higher.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse company and vendor personnel.
  • Evidence of proficiency in Northern Tool + Equipment's 12 Core Competencies.
