At Sibros, one of our core products focuses on providing OTA (over-the-air) software updates to a fleet of vehicles. We foresee that most new vehicles will integrate some level of cloud connectivity in the coming years. Our mission involves developing a deployment engine that facilitates software updates for millions of vehicles.

Although operating in the automotive industry poses unique challenges such as vehicles going offline unpredictably, frequent network connectivity issues, and the necessity for updates under safe conditions, the list goes on. As a member of our team, you'll be delving into one of the most demanding and pivotal issues in the OTA sector at a global scale, resolving various complex scenarios and scalability problems within a vast distributed system.

Your responsibilities include:

What you'll do:

Software Engineering:
- Develop and implement a highly scalable distributed system to manage vehicle upgrades among millions of vehicles
- Introduce methodologies and tools to boost team productivity, code quality, and delivery efficiency. Advocate for and implement best practices and standards.

Software Architecture:
- Offer technical guidance to team members, aiding them in addressing intricate technical obstacles, steering architectural decisions, and ensuring the delivery of top-notch software solutions.

Team Leadership:
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of technical experts, including developers, engineers, and architects.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work milieu that fosters creativity, innovation, and continuous enhancement.

Project Management:
- Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.
- Monitor project progression, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure successful project completion within budget and timeline constraints.

Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams like product managers, firmware, and QA engineers to align technical requirements with business objectives.
- Promote efficient communication and collaboration across teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Stakeholder Management:
- Engage and cultivate relationships with essential stakeholders, such as executives, clients, and other departments. Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies effectively, ensuring alignment and managing expectations.

What you should know:
- Minimum 6 years of experience working as a software engineer
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across functional domains
- Profound knowledge of computer science basics, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience in designing and deploying microservices in real-world scenarios
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup setting and take on various roles
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java/C#/Ruby/Python/Golang) for production scenarios
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms and cloud-native technologies such as AWS, GCP, Azure
- Expertise in building large-scale deployment and workflow orchestration systems (bonus)
- Good grasp of security, certificates, encryption, and familiarity with update frameworks like TUF or Uptane (bonus)
