Position Summary:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar field

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and fix complex hardware, software and network issues
  • Installing and upgrading UNIX system software on servers
  • Create/Modify UNIX file systems
  • Setting up and maintaining UNIX user accounts and access management systems
  • Implementing network and computer system policies
  • Detecting and troubleshooting software and hardware issues
  • Responding to user requests and software errors
  • Monitoring the performance of the system and server
  • SAMBA and FTP administration
  • Troubleshooting knowledge on Linux for LDAP integration, NFS, NIS
  • Experience of working on Linux systems on VMware as well as public clouds like AWS, OCI and Azure
  • Knowledge of network concepts such as the TCP/IP stack, load balancing, firewalls, and iRules
  • Knowledge of UNIX and LINUX operating systems, storage environments, file systems, and network protocols
  • Detailed knowledge of UNIX principles, file editing, UNIX commands, and file manipulation
  • Familiarity with UNIX, LINUX, and LINUX shell scripting
  • Knowledge of networking principles including routing, subnets, TCP, IP, VLANs, and UDP
  • Understanding of backup procedures and storage management
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Indepth knowledge of computer hardware systems including circuit boards, memory modules, and processors
  • ITIL Certified or a strong working knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem and Change Management disciplines
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain decisive.
  • Should be able to train junior team members
  • Having LINUX certification will be an added advantage
  • Experience on working on Oracle hypervisor would be added advantage
