Senior Cloud Data Architect

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Cloud Data Architect to join our growing team.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing scalable and secure data solutions to support our ever-increasing data needs.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business stakeholders and data scientists to understand data requirements and translate them into high-performing data architectures on GCP.
Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
Work with data engineers to automate data pipelines and optimize data processing workflows.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to identify and resolve issues proactively.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in big data technologies and GCP services.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data architects and engineers.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Data Architect, Data Engineer, or similar role.
Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale data solutions on GCP.
In-depth knowledge of big data technologies and concepts (e.g., data warehousing, data lakes, data pipelines).
Strong expertise with data warehouse platforms Big Query, Redshift, Synapse and others
Experience with data modeling techniques, data quality practices, and data governance principles.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear language for business stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest trends in cloud data management.
Knowledge of programming languages Python, C/C++, Java, and Perl
Knowledge of systems development, including system development life cycle, project management approaches and requirements, design and testing techniques
Proficiency in data modelling and design, including SQL development and database administration
Understanding of predictive modelling, NLP and text analysis, Machine Learning
Ability to implement common data management and reporting technologies, as well as the basics of columnar and No SQL databases, data visualisation, unstructured data, and predictive analytics.
Data mining, visualisation, and Machine Learning skillsStrong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores.
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Bonus Points:
Proven experience managing and optimizing big data clusters.
Certifications in Google Cloud Platform (e.g., GCP Certified Data Engineer)
