About the Role

  • Responsible for Stat bases of Accounting – primarily US Statutory/Yellow books
  • Interpreting data, analysing results using statistical techniques and identify business improvement opportunities
  • Analyse problems and determine root causes
  • Perform key reconciliations and ensure process controls are met consistently
  • Monitor the collation and tracking of KPIs for end-to-end tasks done during quarter end close
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local cross-functional business partners and global business partners
  • Understanding of USGAAP will be an advantage

About the Team

The P&C Americas team is responsible Stat bases of Accounting – primarily US Statutory to the US regulator, NAIC. We are looking for a candidate with relevant working knowledge of regulatory accounting and reporting. The team is also supports the accounting & reporting actuarial, technical accounting & tax teams as required.

The duties will be performed in compliance with local / group requirements and the internal control framework for the assigned legal entities. The position will report directly to the Team Lead Accounting & Reporting P&C in Bangalore. It also requires frequent and pragmatic communication regarding workload and issues encountered with both local and US based management

About You

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Graduate or Post-Graduate in Finance
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Insurance (re) accounting experience will be an advantage
  • Possesses a "can do" attitude with high degree of energy and focus on engaging on new ideas
  • Thought leadership – integrating information from variety of sources to evaluate alternatives
  • Inquisitive, self-motivating, able to think innovatively, willing to take risk and deliver with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate effective people interaction skills
  • Take ownership and accountability for the work performed
