COWI is currently hiring for an Electrical Designer with expertise in power and grounding, substation layout, lighting, cabling, schematics, and electrical bulks specification. Would you be interested in using your skills in sustainability as we shift away from all fossil fuel projects?

You will be part of a team of dedicated colleagues specializing in energy, thermal, chemical processes, carbon capture, electrical, piping, and mechanical engineering, collaborating closely with our clients on some of the most impactful green fuel projects worldwide.

Furthermore, you will have the chance to engage in cross-border collaboration with our Danish counterparts and contribute to large-scale international projects.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing E3D or AP3D for 3D modeling, carrying out electrical design tasks in both 2D and 3D for designated projects.
  • Designing and creating layouts encompassing cable trays, raceway, grounding, lighting, and electrical area classification.
  • Ensuring compliance with QA/QC procedures, delivering design work that meets applicable codes and standards.
  • Managing electrical installation design, encompassing plant layout, hazardous areas, power and grounding, substation layout, lighting, cabling, schematics, and interconnection diagrams.
  • Participating in initial layout and material take-off (MTO) activities for estimation/bidding purposes, offering on-site engineering assistance.
  • Collaborating with proficient designers and engineers, using E3D software to model electrical and instrumentation equipment, and engaging in cross-departmental coordination and communication with colleagues in India and Europe.

In addition, you should possess:

  • Possess a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with over 5 years of experience.
  • Fundamental proficiency in E3D/PDMS software and familiarity with LV, MV, and HV systems, as well as practical experience in Earthing, lighting design for industrial facilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working on projects involving hazardous environments.
  • Understanding of IEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, and API standards.
  • Good grasp of Instrumentation deliverables like interconnecting diagrams, Hook-up, Loop diagrams.
  • Background in electrical design for drafting layouts covering cable trays, raceway, grounding, lighting, and electrical area classification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse design teams.
