About the Role:


As a Software Engineer (Java - Backend / Full Stack) on the Meraki product team, you will collaborate with firmware and other Backend/SRE/Dashboard engineers to architect, design, and build a large-scale system running wireless features.

You will enable connections between over a million network nodes and our Wireless customers relying on our products to serve tens of millions of people.

With the large footprint that we have, quality is our highest priority.

Meraki Wireless (Backend / Full Stack) team is responsible for delivering a simple to use but very powerful, scalable, and groundbreaking cloud-managed service to customers.

With help from product managers and firmware engineers, you will construct intuitive but powerful systems that will be used by customers via the Meraki Dashboard.


What you will work on:
Solve complicated architecture problems to build scalable and extendable systems.
Work with firmware engineers and PM to build intuitive and powerful workflows to handle containers.
Coordinate and align knowledge and opinions between firmware, SRE, and Dashboard developers.
With the help of other engineers, implement sophisticated Backend and dashboard systems to handle wireless solutions.
Identify and solve performance bottlenecks in our (Backend / Full Stack) architecture.

Take complete ownership from conception to production release by using your ability to influence, facilitate, and work collaboratively across teams.

Lead, mentor, and spread best-practices to other specialists on the team.

You are an ideal fit if you have:

5+ years of Experience in production-quality Java application development.5+ years of proven experience writing professional production code and tests for large-scale systems.2+ years of experience in building rich web UIs with React.

Experience in technologies like Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Security, JPA, Maven, GradleCan implement efficient database design and query performance in a relational database (Postgres, SQL)Exposure to working with Cloud solutions.

Strategic and product-oriented approach with a desire to understand users.
Outstanding communication skills and willingness to work in multiple technologies.

Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training.

U.S.

employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings.

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday.

Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO.

We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components.

For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%.

Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
