The tasks a Fabric Checker is expected to perform includes: Checking the fabric inspecting the fabric before the fabric is passed on to the cutting stage

Key Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of operating fabric checking machine
  • Knowledge of identifying, rectifying and eliminating fabric errors
  • Knowledge of various fabric defects, their grade, weightage and procedure Knowledge of the metric system for yarn
  • Understand the importance of grain line and sleeve edges
  • Knowledge of fabric nap and identification of nap, printing and dying defects
  • Knowledge of how to fill the inspection records

Preferably training in fabric inspection
