Chief Metallurgist

Looking for a Chief Metallurgist based inLucknow KeyResponsibilities: 1. Oversee the operation andmaintenance of metallurgical testing equipment including digitalmicroscopes radiography devices and chemical analysis tools usingwet/spark methods.
2. Handson involvement in preparingspecimens for metallurgical analysis ensuring accuracy andprecision in testing procedures.
3. Interpret andanalyze metallurgical reports identifying key findings trends andareas for improvement.
4. Monitor manufacturingprocesses to detect any abnormalities or deviations particularly incasting and metalworking procedures.
5. Develop andimplement solutions to address mechanical and chemical issuesoptimizing material properties and enhancing productquality.
6.

Possess a strong understanding of thematerial properties and behavior of nickel titanium and otherspecial alloys commonly used in aerospace castingapplications.

Proficiently read and interpretmaterial test certificate reports related to Restriction ofHazardous Substances (ROHS) Substances of Concern (SOCs) andInternational Material Data System (IMDS) compliance.

8.Lead the development and optimization of metallurgical processesfor aero casting manufacturing ensuring efficiency quality andcosteffectiveness.
9. Provide strategic direction andleadership to the metallurgy team fostering a culture of excellenceinnovation and continuous improvement.
10. Establish andmaintain rigorous quality control measures for metallurgicalprocesses and products ensuring adherence to regulatory standardsand customer specifications.
11.

Collaborate withengineering and production teams to select appropriate materialsfor aero casting applications considering factors such as strengthdurability and performance requirements.

12. Conductthorough root cause analysis of metallurgical failures identifyingcorrective actions and implementing preventive measures to mitigatefuture risks.
13. Stay updated on latest advancements inmetallurgical technologies and materials science leading researchinitiatives to drive innovation and competitiveadvantage.
14. Manage relationships with materialsuppliers conducting regular audits and evaluations to ensurecompliance with quality and performance standards.

15.Provide expert technical guidance and support to production teamstroubleshooting metallurgical issues and optimizing processes forimproved efficiency and product quality.

16. Ensurecompliance with relevant regulatory requirements industry standardsand certifications related to metallurgical processes andmaterials.
17. Develop and manage budgets for themetallurgy function identifying opportunities for cost savings andefficiency improvements without compromising quality orsafety.
18. Overall supervision of material testing andfailure investigation work related to metallicmaterials.
19. Collaborating with the productiondepartment to manufacture castings and raw materials according tocustomer specifications.
20.

Aiding the Sales and NewBusiness Development team in the preparation of RFP/RFQ costestimation and conducting commercial negotiations for specialalloys and materials.

21. Development of codes manualsand standards of testing procedures for material and
components.
22.

Directs creation and periodicallyreviews all instructions and procedures pertaining to MetallurgyLab and production processing operations involved in allexperimental work in the plant dedicated to newprojects.

23. Utilize statistical tools & techniquesfor preventive actions to reach the goal of zero defects in anyprocess of casting development.
24. Ensure maintenanceof records as per NADCAP AS 9100 and ISO 9001 norms.
25.Ensure safe work environment and culture of continuous improvement(Kaizen) & 5S in the Lab within the workingarea.
