Job Title: Accounts Payable Associate

An Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for handling daily accounts payable tasks such as invoice processing, payment runs, and reconciliations for their designated markets. This role involves direct communication with internal customers and external vendors.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform accounts payable duties by matching purchase orders to invoices and inputting them into SAP/TAP following Nielsen's protocols.
  • Ensure timely recording, documentation, and review of daily accounts payable transactions in compliance with SOX controls and Nielsen's policies.
  • Identify and resolve invoice errors or discrepancies and reconcile vendor accounts by reviewing monthly statements.
  • Report indirect taxes (sales, VAT, etc.) by calculating requirements on invoices.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including expense accruals, journal entries, and supporting schedules/analysis.
  • Prepare reconciliations of payables-related general ledger accounts as per Nielsen's guidelines.
  • Aid in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules and both internal and external reporting packages.
  • Research and resolve outstanding balances on accounts, liaising with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Help in drafting responses to information requests from Nielsen Corporate and external auditors.
  • Maintain accurate files and documentation in line with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist in special project work as delegated by superiors at the market or regional level.

  • Collaborate with Associate Operational Controller, Operational Controller, and their teams on compliance and governance.

Education & Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years of accounting experience in a multinational organization.
Experience
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, with SAP module knowledge considered advantageous
  • Familiarity with GAAP accounting concepts and preferably IFRS/Local GAAP and SOX compliance
  • Strong computer skills, including Google applications
