IIT-Madras is looking for candidates for the position of Senior Manager / Assistant Vice President in its Office of Institutional Advancement.

The position is in the IIT Madras Alumni Charitable Trust, an organization that closely collaborates with IIT Madras to assist with fundraising and alumni engagement. This is a full-time role, based at IIT Madras, Chennai. The ideal candidate will interact with IIT Madras Alumni worldwide to secure funds for the institute's various needs including research, infrastructure, student projects, scholarships, and more.


Responsibilities:

  • Understand the different 'causes' at IIT Madras that require sponsorship, such as student scholarships, research, projects, and infrastructure.
  • Identify potential donors through various communication channels like emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings.
  • Develop and execute effective fundraising campaigns tailored to specific 'causes'.
  • Coordinate pre-campaign, campaign launch, and post-campaign activities.
  • Create engaging digital fundraising content with expertise in social media marketing.
  • Regularly follow up with potential donors via phone calls.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with Alumni to drive new donor acquisitions, retention, and maximize donor value through thoughtful strategies.
  • Take charge of end-to-end retail fundraising and crowdfunding objectives, ensuring their successful completion.
  • Strategize and lead the growth of retail and crowdfunding initiatives year after year, collaborating with other teams.
  • Enhance the overall donor and fundraiser experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Postgraduate degree in Management Studies, Business Administration, or MBA with a focus on Sales or Marketing.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in Crowdfunding, Retail, or Marketing environments.
  • Proficiency in conducting successful retail and crowdfunded campaigns.
  • Knowledge of marketing, digital trends, and creating impactful content for campaigns.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to craft compelling email content.
  • Skilled in effective communication for cold calling and generating positive responses.
  • Ability to produce digital content and graphics for email and retail campaigns.
  • Determination, passion, and a strong work ethic to achieve financial goals and attract new donors.
  • Capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams like Marketing, Accounts, and Deployment.
  • Experience with CRM software like Salesforce, Pardot, etc., is a plus.
