• In conjunction with senior members of the team and individually produce high quality analysis, forecasts and timely research reports on the US, European and Japanese economies (G3) to support the business decisions of ANZ and ANZ's clients.

• Working with others, this role will present economic views to some staff and internal stakeholders.

What will your day look like


• Monitoring, analysing and forecasting aspects of G3 economies

• Writing and contributing to relevant and timely research analysis that promotes the value add of G3 research

• Working closely with other members of the team

• Developing and supporting relationships with key internal stakeholders and external clients

• Role modelling ANZ's values, behaviours and our aspirational culture

• Contributing to the Research team's agenda around new techniques with data

What will you bring?

'Must have' knowledge, skills and experience:


• A keen interest in global economics, geopolitics and ESG

• Experience working as an economist preferred, rigorous economic framework and understanding essential

• Strong statistical analysis skills

• An effective communication style, both written and oral

• High levels of initiative and problem-solving

• A collaborative team member

• Fluent in written and spoken English.

'Good to have' knowledge, skills and experience:


• Previous experience in forecasting desirable

• Working knowledge of python, R

• Keen interest in new analytical techniques

Qualifications:


• Bachelor of Economics (or equivalent) degree from a recognised tertiary institution

• Honours degree and/or relevant post-grad studies well regarded
