PATH is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting health equity. With over 40 years of experience in building partnerships across different sectors, we specialize in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and various other areas. PATH focuses on developing and expanding innovative solutions to address the most critical health issues globally.

PATH is looking for a Global Lead for Large Scale Food Fortification (LSFF) to spearhead food fortification initiatives, primarily focusing on rice fortification and nutrition programs on a global scale. Food fortification is a cost-effective strategy with established health, economic, and social benefits, offering significant potential in addressing micronutrient deficiencies among underserved populations lacking access to nutrient-rich foods.

Building on over two decades of experience, PATH has been at the forefront of developing effective methods for fortifying rice with essential vitamins and minerals. To ensure the widespread adoption and impact of fortified rice, we are expanding our evidence base, creating global markets, and promoting adoption on a global scale. Our aim is to collaborate with stakeholders to introduce, test, utilize, and scale fortified rice to address malnutrition and enhance quality of life.

PATH's rice fortification programs have already positively impacted over 800 million individuals worldwide through effective management and oversight.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conceptualize, develop, and lead PATH's strategies and initiatives in Fortification and Nutrition at a global level.
  • Provide direction, leadership, and oversight for the program's global expansion, including the design and implementation of programs worldwide.
  • Manage and monitor all strategic and technical aspects of ongoing program activities, analyzing progress reports and project briefs.
  • Engage in the delivery of program objectives, collaborating with PATH's project leads, governments, and donors to enhance project outcomes.
  • Offer technical guidance to countries on fortification and nutrition project design and implementation, advising government entities, teams, and donors.
Required Experience:
  • Advanced degree and/or training in Nutrition, Management, Public Health, Health Systems, Statistics, Economics, or related fields. An MBA from a reputable business school is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in a similar organization, top-tier management consulting firm, or international development consulting organization, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • Internationally recognized as an expert in fortification and nutrition.
  • Understanding of national and international nutrition-related policies, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong people management and communication skills to handle conflicts and motivate employees towards a shared vision.
  • Proven experience in managing program aspects such as strategic implementation, financial planning, and execution.
  • Ability to set and uphold performance standards for individuals and teams.
  • Effective collaboration within a matrix organizational structure and across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in working with diverse stakeholders and navigating differing viewpoints respectfully.
