Big Data Lead

LOCATION:
Fort Worth, TX

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated Data Governance Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of data governance principles and practical experience with data governance tools like Alation and Monte Carlo. In this position, you will be in charge of establishing and managing data governance procedures using these tools to ensure data quality compliance and excellent data management.

  • Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to establish and enforce data governance best practices.
  • Conduct data quality assessments, identify issues, and execute corrective actions.
  • Utilize Alation's data catalog capabilities to enhance data discovery and lineage.
  • Utilize Monte Carlo to establish and monitor data governance metrics and KPIs.

Work closely with data stewards and owners to guarantee adherence to data governance standards, provide training to users on data governance usage, integrate Alation and Monte Carlo with other data platforms, and stay updated on the latest trends in data governance and technologies for program enhancement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; a master's degree is advantageous.
  • 3 years of proven data governance experience, preferably with Alation, Profisee, Collibra, or Monte Carlo.
  • Familiarity with modern enterprise data management practices leveraging cloud platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, PowerBI, and Azure.
  • Strong grasp of data governance principles, best practices, and industry standards like GDPR and CCPA.
  • Knowledge of data cataloging, lineage, and quality concepts.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for seamless collaboration.
  • Self-motivated and capable of both independent and collaborative work.
  • Certifications in data governance or related fields are a plus, and familiarity with the Airlines domain is preferred.
