Job RoleQualified Architect with significant experience of large project delivery across a range of sectors, managing teams undertaking the technical design delivery in packages, and taking responsibility for the overall quality, co-ordination and appropriate level of detail for the outputs.

Able to collaborate with the Architectural Project Management in developing and managing the design delivery strategy, deliverables and programme with appropriate resources and time in place for multi-disciplinary co-ordination and assurance in response to a clearly defined and agreed procurement strategy.

Required to drive a culture of continuous improvement based on knowledge management including but not limited to, understanding current standards and codes, drawing and document templating, delivery strategy models, co-ordination and assurance processes.

An open, collaborative and accessible team leader that encourages open communication with their own team to collectively identify any elements of issue early as possible for review with the wider Architectural Team.

Experienced in the capabilities and scope of typical contractor led design packages and the level of detail needed to define performance, dimensional and aesthetic expectations.

The Principal Architect engages with the Architectural Project Lead to establish project scope, programme and fees.

Job Responsibilities:

In collaboration with UK Architectural Management Team, resource and manage architectural team for delivery of technical design development and delivery.

In collaboration with Architectural Project Leadership and own team, support development, management and delivery of the project technical design delivery strategy, deliverables and programme.

Responsible for establishing and maintaining knowledge management systems required to maintain current understanding of standards and codes, agreed document and drawing templates and technical design delivery models.

Duties will include the facilitation, resourcing and management of the technical design response development and implementation of project design concepts, project modelling, developing sketches, conducting research and data collection, preparing presentations and reports, and general production of design and construction documents.

Facilitation, resourcing and management of works on multiple projects, providing concepts and techniques in ways that may explore new ways of achieving design solutions, completing tasks within established deadlines and budgets, and effectively utilizing resources to address project requirements.

Facilitation, resourcing and management of interactions with clients and consultants, participates on project development, and presents ideas clearly and persuasively.

Prepares, manages, and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, and details, as directed by others in the project team, following standards and archiving documents as appropriate.

Facilitation, resourcing and management of developing solutions to technical and design problems following established design standards.
Support and inform the development of project scope, plans and services during the contract process.
Facilitation, resourcing and management for the preparation of 2D and 3D presentations, design drawings and renderings.
Facilitation, resourcing and management for the compilation of data and performing fundamental design computations.

Facilitation, resourcing and management for undertaking product research to assist Project Team with materials selection and system research & the incorporation of Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.

Implements strategic direction and management to projects from a technical perspective, from lessons learned, successes, tools, best practice, and cross-pollination.

Demonstrates effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Instils a strong project management and project delivery culture.
Maintain/raise the level of technical competence within the team.
Undertake technical reviews and contribute to the concept design.
Provide line management to appropriate staff.
