As a General Accountant, your primary responsibility will be to manage and oversee financial transactions and reporting for the organization.

You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Your work will be essential in supporting the decision-making process and providing insights to the management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Recording and Reporting: Prepare, examine, and analyze financial records, statements, and reports. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
  • Bookkeeping: Record and maintain financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts to support planning and decisionmaking processes.
  • Reconciliation: Conduct regular bank reconciliations, ensuring that all transactions are accurately reflected and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and performance indicators, providing insights to support strategic planning and identify areas for improvement.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Audit Support: Collaborate with auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Financial Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Compliance: Stay updated with accounting regulations and standards to ensure compliance with changes in financial reporting requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, streamlining accounting procedures for greater efficiency.
  • Communication: Communicate financial information effectively to internal stakeholders and management, explaining complex financial matters in a clear and understandable manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 years experience in accounts
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in Tally and MS Excel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Ernakulam, Kerala: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • Bachelor's (required)

Experience:

  • Tally: 1 year (required)

Financial Analysis: 1 year (preferred)
