Role Description :

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Back End Developer located in the Greater Bengaluru Area.

About the role :

Our backend developer teams work with Kotlin and Python. CI/CD is handled by combining Github, Jenkins, and Spinnaker to test and deploy code to production.

The infrastructure is managed as code with Terraform and Atlantis, and services are monitored using Prometheus, Grafana, and Light step.


We work with open-source technologies that need to run in multiple cloud environments - both public clouds (Google Cloud Platform, Azure, and AWS) and private clouds with customer-provided Kubernetes.

Managed Kubernetes (GKE, AKS, EKS, Openshift) forms the base on which we build our products. We harness PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch for graph data storage, query processing and retrieval. We replicate data to different storage systems to be able to answer differen types of queries.

Role & responsibilities :

  • 4+ yrs 8 yrs Experience
  • Develop Cognite Data Fusion a robust, stateoftheart SaaS for industrial data.
  • Solve concrete industrial data problems by designing and implementing delightful APIs and robust services with Python and Kotlin.
  • Build graph database technology using PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch to power our industrial knowledge graph, realizing Client vision of a safer and more efficient industrial future.
  • Work with application teams to ensure a delightful user experience that helps the user solve complex realworld problems that have yet to be solved before.
  • Build scalable and performant solutions with opensource technology like Spark and Foundation DB and data infrastructure.
  • Collaborate in a fastpaced environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Be actively involved in setting product and technical direction.
  • Be actively involved in product and technical decisions.

  • Solid experience with building complex backend services using JVMbased languages and/or Python.
  • Good understanding of modern database technologies, particularly PostgreSQL
  • Passion for graph processing, databases, performance engineering, or distributed systems
  • Broad experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD and Infrastructure as code
  • Experience with large Cloud deployments on any of AWS, GCP, or Azure; build, test, deploy, and monitor software in a multicloud Kubernetes environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills; ability to track down information in logs, traces, and metrics and take appropriate action based on findings.
  • Solid understanding of monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
  • Comfortable working with Open-Source community request features, fix issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
