The Role

You'll be part of a team supporting vulnerable residents across different locations, helping them become more independent at home and in the community. Your focus will be on improving daily living skills, social skills, and overall wellbeing, particularly for younger individuals or those with complex needs.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide support to residents and service recipients, following the principles of housing first and psychologically informed environments
  • Deliver services with a strengths-based approach, emphasizing independence, rights, and dignity
  • Collaborate with professionals during emergencies
  • Ensure residents have up-to-date support plans reflecting their needs and goals
  • Engage residents in key working sessions to help them reach their desired outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with residents and stakeholders
  • Promote life skills, social engagement, and resident involvement
  • Access specialist services when necessary
  • Assist with home security and safety
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols and infection control measures

What You'll Have

  • No prior experience required - comprehensive training provided
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Display empathy, compassion, and patience
  • Adaptability to different work environments
  • Will to pursue an NVQ 2 in Care
  • Minimum 5 GCSE passes including Maths and English
  • Willingness to work towards an NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Commitment to acquiring necessary role knowledge

The Location

You'll work at various schemes in Newport, Sandown, Shanklin, and Ryde on the Island.
