Job Description

Should have 8+ years' experience in Stress analysis related activities. Knowledge of areas like vibration studies (EI guidelines), multiphase analysis (slug flow, flow induced vibrations), fatigue analysis are preferred. Pipe stress analysis, prepare / checking of reports, etc. Analysis of topside offshore piping connected to pumps, compressors, turbines, columns, flare, x-mas trees, pressure vessels, air coolers etc. Analysis of onshore piping connected to Static,rotating equipments and experience in Underground lines. Prepare / check data sheets, MR's specific to projects. Supports selection as per stress requirement and checking of pipe support drawings. Consultancy, problems solving and resolution of technical issues. Responsible for all deliverables from him e.g. level of quality, time schedule, budget etc. Work closely with Stress / Mechanical / Piping leads and interface with stress people, piping designers, and people in other disciplines such as structures etc. in Ramboll both in Chennai and outside India.

Qualifications

Bachelor (or master) of Engineering in Piping / Mechanical or equivalent degree from recognised university. As a person you are extrovert and have strong communication skills. You enjoy working together with other people and are a true team player. You are pro-active towards your internal clients in the company no matter where they are located or at what level in the organisation they are working Knowledge of Dynamic analysis (modal, time history, response spectrum, harmonic) is an added advantage. Experience in Piping special items (spring supports, expansion joints, rigid strut, snubbers) selection/design, datasheets & material requisition. Familiar with piping materials, specifications, calculations and datasheets. Well familiar with International codes and standards, calculations related to stress analysis. Have thorough knowledge of stress analysis software Caesar. Knowledge on Rohr2 software experience will be added advantage Review / checking and assistance in design of special supports Solid theoretical background with sound engineering judgement. Good English skills: Oral and Written.
