Senior Manager-Regulatory Reporting
About us
slice, India's leading consumer payments and credit platform, has now merged with North East Small Finance Bank (NESFB), marking a significant step into the banking sector. Trusted by over 18 million Indians, we are on a mission to build the most loved bank in India—offering simple, transparent, and customer-first banking.
About the team
Imagine the regulatory reporting team as the "guardians of the rulebook" in the world of finance and business. They are like meticulous puzzle solvers, piecing together complex financial data to ensure everything aligns perfectly with the law.
In essence, they're the behind-the-scenes superheroes, working silently to make sure the business is always ready for its financial inspections — and they do it all with precision and creativity, making sure they meet the ever-evolving landscape of regulatory requirements.
About the role
As a member of our Regulatory Reporting team, you'll keep the ship sailing smoothly by ensuring the company follows all the financial rules and regulations, avoiding any potential storms in the form of fines or penalties. And just like a safety officer who checks every exit in a building, they confirm that every financial practice is compliant, so the business stays safe and sound.
What You will do
Regulatory Reporting Oversight:
- Lead and manage the preparation and submission of all required regulatory reports (e.g., financial, tax, compliance, and risk reports).
- Ensure adherence to deadlines for regulatory filings and resolve any discrepancies or issues with regulatory submissions.
- Monitor and track regulatory changes and interpret their impact on the organization's reporting requirements.
Compliance and Regulatory Liaison:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, including interactions related to reporting requirements, queries, audits, and inspections.
- Stay informed about evolving regulations (both domestic and international) and lead internal efforts to incorporate necessary changes into reporting practices.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk teams to ensure that all regulatory and compliance issues are addressed effectively.
Data Management and Analysis:
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data used for regulatory reporting by implementing effective data governance practices.
- Oversee the preparation of financial, risk, and other related data for regulatory reports.
- Provide analysis and insights into the data to support strategic decision-making and improve reporting processes.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and manage a team of regulatory reporting professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and training.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and professional development within the team.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance and effectiveness of the reporting team.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of the regulatory reporting process.
- Drive the automation of reporting workflows and the integration of new technologies to streamline operations.
- Continuously evaluate existing reporting procedures and implement best practices.
Audit and Internal Controls:
- Oversee the design and implementation of strong internal controls related to regulatory reporting processes.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during periodic audits to ensure compliance with reporting standards and regulations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, including finance, risk management, and legal, to ensure alignment and the successful execution of regulatory reporting requirements.
- Provide strategic input into the development of reporting systems and processes that support business growth and regulatory compliance.
What you will need
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, Master's in Finance) and certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) are a plus.
5-7 years of experience in regulatory reporting, finance, or accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, financial reporting standards and relevant reporting tools and software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior leadership, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
Proven track record in managing teams and driving results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Life at slice:
Life so good, you'd think we're kidding:
• Competitive salaries. Period.
• An extensive medical insurance that looks out for our employees & their dependents. We'll love you and take care of you, our promise.
• Flexible working hours. Just don't call us at 3AM, we like our sleep schedule.
• Tailored vacation & leave policies so that you enjoy every important moment in your life.
• A reward system that celebrates hard work and milestones throughout the year. Expect a gift coming your way anytime you kill it here.
• Learning and upskilling opportunities. Seriously, not kidding.
• Good food, games, and a cool office to make you feel at home. An environment so good, you'll forget the term "colleagues can't be your friends".
