The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications using OpenEdge ABL, integrating with other systems, and ensuring high performance and scalability.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain applications using Progress OpenEdge ABL (Advanced Business Language).Work on GUI and Character-based interfaces, batch processes, and database procedures.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues.Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.Integrate OpenEdge applications with external systems using APIs, RESTful services, or other middleware.Support deployment and post-deployment activities.Document technical specifications and user manuals.Required Skills & Qualifications:Minimum 6 years of experience in Progress OpenEdge development.Strong command over ABL, Progress 4GL, and OpenEdge database.Experience with OpenEdge 11.x or higher.Familiarity with AppServer, WebSpeed, and PASOE (Progress Application Server for OpenEdge).Good understanding of RDBMS concepts and SQL.Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Skills:Experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems like Git.Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker).Exposure to modern UI frameworks or web technologies is a plus.Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
