Our hybrid delivery model blends strong onshore presence with offshore capability to deliver resilient, scalable outcomes for our clients.The RoleWe’re seeking a Senior ERP Systems Engineer (IBM i) to join our Applications Support practice, embedded onsite with one of our key enterprise clients in the manufacturing and distribution sector in Melbourne.This is a hands-on senior role focused on the support, stabilisation, and ongoing operation of legacy ERP platforms running on IBM i / AS400, including BPCS, ASW, and IBS.You’ll work closely with the client’s Applications team while remaining a Talink employee, providing technical leadership, strong ownership, and guidance across a hybrid onshore/offshore support model.👉 Relocation to Australia is required, and Talink will provide relocation support for the successful candidate.Client & Technology EnvironmentYou’ll be working in a complex, mission-critical ERP landscape across Australia and New Zealand, including:BPCS 6.1 – Manufacturing (core stable with significant custom modules)ASW 3.5 – Distribution (heavily customised)IBS 6.1 – DistributionIBS Integrator – Middleware & integrationsIBM i / AS400 platformTechnologies: RPG (RPG III / RPGLE / ILE), CL, DB2/400These systems underpin core manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations and require deep technical understanding and operational maturity.What You’ll Be Doing🔧 ERP Application Support & OperationsProvide senior-level support across BPCS, ASW, and IBS environmentsDiagnose and resolve complex production issues across applications, integrations, and batch processesOwn BAU operations, system health monitoring, and batch job oversightAct as a senior escalation point for critical and recurring incidents🔗 Integration & Interface SupportSupport integrations via IBS Integrator and custom IBM i interfacesAnalyse and resolve interface failures and data inconsistenciesImprove stability and reliability of the integration layer🚨 Incident, Problem & Change ManagementLead root cause analysis and post-incident reviewsIdentify recurring issues and contribute to preventative problem managementSupport safe, controlled change implementation including testing and deployment📘 Documentation & Knowledge CaptureDocument system architecture, custom modules, integrations, and batch processesCreate and maintain run-books, diagnostic guides, and support documentationReduce reliance on individual SMEs through structured knowledge capture🤝 Collaboration & LeadershipWork as a trusted member of the client’s Applications teamProvide technical guidance and task direction to offshore Talink teams in IndiaDrive effective knowledge transfer across onshore and offshore teamsTake end-to-end ownership of assigned work🔄 Continuous ImprovementIdentify risks, technical debt, and opportunities to improve system stabilityContribute to incremental enhancements and operational efficienciesWhat We’re Looking For✅ Essential Experience10+ years supporting ERP systems on IBM i / AS400Strong hands-on experience with:BPCS 6.1ASW (preferably 3.5) and/or IBSIBS Integrator or similar IBM i integration toolingAdvanced skills in RPG (RPG III / RPGLE / ILE), CL, and DB2/400Proven background in production support of highly customised legacy systemsStrong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilityExperience working in hybrid onshore/offshore delivery models⭐ DesirableExposure to manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environmentsExperience with EDI or file-based integrationsFamiliarity with IBM i change tools (e.G.
