Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Tool Design Engineer with proven experience in designing fixtures, dies, jigs, and workholding systems used in aerospace precision engineering. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in tooling design and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities


• Design high-precision fixtures, jigs, and dies for aerospace and defense components


• Develop workholding solutions for CNC machining and other manufacturing processes


• Collaborate closely with production, quality, and design teams to ensure manufacturability and precision


• Create and revise CAD drawings and technical documentation


• Optimize tooling for cycle time, rigidity, and operator ergonomics


• Support NPI (New Product Introduction) projects with design for manufacturability input


• Troubleshoot and improve existing tooling and fixturing systems on the shop floor

Required Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field


• 3+ years of experience in tool design, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing


• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, or similar)


• Deep understanding of aerospace tolerances, GD&T, and machining constraints


• Strong knowledge of materials, heat treatment, and surface finishing


• Familiarity with injection molding, press tools, and die design is a plus


• Effective communicator and collaborative team player

Preferred Skills


• Experience working in AS9100 or ISO 9001:2015 environments


• Exposure to composite tooling or ceramic component fixturing


• Hands-on experience with CNC machining processes
