Professor and Chair

The Case Study Writer will partner with faculty and the Mohanbir Sawhney Case Study Centre (CSC) to research, develop, write, and publish high-quality business case studies for academic instruction, publication, and use in teaching. The role demands strong narrative craft, analytical rigour, and familiarity with pedagogy in business education.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough market, industry, and organizational research to gather factual and qualitative data needed for case study development
• Collaborate with faculty to clarify pedagogical objectives, learning outcomes, and case formats.
• Write case studies that include background context, decision points, alternative courses of action, supporting data, and teaching notes.
• Ensure factual accuracy through verification and citations; maintain academic integrity.
• Revise drafts based on feedback from faculty/stakeholders; ensure clarity, relevancy, engagement.
• Support the process of preparing cases for external publishing, case competitions, or inclusion in printed/in-house outlets (e.g. Woxsen Business Review)
• Meet project timelines and manage multiple case writing assignments simultaneously.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in Business / Management / Case Writing / Communications, or related field; PhD preferred.
• Proven publication record: at least 10 completed and published case studies or similar works such as detailed business reports with teaching notes
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills in English; ability to compose narratives that are analytically strong, engaging, and pedagogically sound.
• Strong research skills, including interviewing, data gathering, qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Familiarity with business case formats, and experience in academic settings or business school pedagogies.
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with faculty and stakeholders.
• Good time management skills and ability to deliver under deadlines.
