About the role:We’re seeking a talented Software Engineer (1 to 3 years of experience) to join our team, where you’ll work with an early stage fintech AI startup building innovative products at the intersection of finance and artificial intelligence.This is a hands-on engineering role focused on backend architecture and data-driven systems, with meaningful contributions to product experience. You’ll help design, develop, and optimise APIs, core logic, and backend infrastructure while collaborating closely with the product team.If you love solving complex technical challenges, writing clean and scalable code, and experimenting with AI-assisted development tools — this is the perfect fit.# What You’ll Do- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI).- Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless full-stack functionality.- Design and optimise database schemas, queries, and data flows (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).- Implement authentication, authorisation, and security best practices.- Leverage AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to enhance development efficiency.- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration workflows.- Work closely with product and data teams to design scalable solutions for fintech and AI-driven features.# What We’re Looking For- 1-3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.- Strong expertise in Python, with experience in FastAPI or Flask.- Solid understanding of TypeScript and NPM ecosystem.- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.- Knowledge of SQL / NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).- Proficient understanding of Docker, Git, and modern deployment practices.- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.- Ability to communicate effectively in English (proficient or conversational level).- Comfortable working remotely, taking ownership, and thriving in fast-moving startup environments.Bonus Points If You Have:- Knowledge of asynchronous programming and performance optimization.- Familiarity with AWS, GCP or any other cloud provider.- Previous experience in Product based companies in GenAI spaceWhat You’ll Get- Work with a fintech AI startup from its early stages — directly shaping the product and user experience.- Mentorship and technical guidance from senior engineers.- Flexible remote work environment.- High visibility and ownership in the product roadmap.- Potential to grow into a core team member / long-term collaborator.We highly prefer candidates who leverage AI in their day to day work.
