Cloud & Hybrid Recovery Architect

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

As a Technology Resilience & Recovery Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in fortifying the organization's cyber resilience and disaster recovery capabilities. This role is critical to ensuring the continuous operation and rapid recovery of technology infrastructure and critical systems in the face of cyber threats and disruptions. By leveraging automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and resilient architecture principles, you will help safeguard and restore essential services across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Cyber Recovery Blueprint Engineering

Design, develop, and maintain cyber recovery blueprints for critical services and applications utilizing Ansible Automation Platform and Terraform.

Build Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)-driven recovery pipelines supporting rapid system recovery in AWS and hybrid cloud environments.

Develop modular Ansible playbooks, Terraform modules, Python scripts, and JavaScript automation for orchestrating recovery processes.

Integrate networking and Linux resilience practices into comprehensive cyber recovery blueprints.

Collaborate closely with security and cloud engineering teams to ensure alignment with enterprise cyber resilience frameworks and Sheltered Harbor–style recovery vaults.

1. Disaster Recovery & Resilience Automation

Implement automated disaster recovery, failover, and cyber recovery validation solutions.

Conduct failure mode analysis (FMA) and incorporate findings into iterative blueprint improvements.

Maintain and optimize data vaulting and one-way replication strategies to ensure cyber recovery readiness and reliability.

1. Testing & Validation

Lead and coordinate cyber recovery drills, including the simulation of ransomware and advanced cyberattack scenarios.

Validate Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for blueprints across AWS and on-premises environments.

Ensure all recovery automation scripts and IaC modules are version-controlled, tested, and production-ready.

1. Incident Response & Crisis Recovery

Act as a technical lead during cyber recovery operations, ensuring swift and effective restoration of critical services following disruptions.

Integrate recovery blueprints into the incident response playbook for ransomware and cyberattack recovery.

Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement of blueprints after recovery events.

1. Monitoring, Compliance & Documentation

Deploy and maintain monitoring solutions for blueprint readiness and disaster recovery orchestration health.

Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, FFIEC, SOC 2, and other relevant cyber resilience frameworks.

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and recovery runbooks for blueprint deployments.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in IT disaster recovery, cyber resilience, or infrastructure engineering roles.
• Hands-on expertise with Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, AWS, and hybrid environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python and JavaScript.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and cyber recovery best practices.
• Strong understanding of cyber resilience frameworks and regulatory standards (e.G., NIST, ISO 27001, FFIEC, SOC 2).
• Experience building and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code and automated recovery pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical recovery operations and conduct root cause analysis.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (OPTIONAL)

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, or CDRE
• Experience with Sheltered Harbor recovery concepts or similar data vaulting solutions.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional global teams.
