Position: Pre-Contracts Engineer - E & C

Total Experience: 2 - 5 years of relevant experience

Education: Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering

Location: Ahmedabad

Office Timing: 09:30 AM to 6:30 PM ( Monday to Friday)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Job Description:
  • Review project inquiry specifications for water treatment plants and preparing/compiling clarifications/exceptions to specifications in the areas of
  • process and analytical instrumentation
  • Controls System
  • Electrical Power systems
  • Perform calculations for electrical equipment installation and design (including MCC sizing, switchgear, VFDs, power transformers, power cabling & other equipment as applicable
  • Review & size the PLC/HMI-based control systems & generate a control system architecture diagram for use in proposals
  • Prepare preliminary design/selection of equipment & followed by Proposal generation.
  • Prepare cost estimates for the equipment proposed for the project- with a goal to win projects.
  • Ensure the proposal is cost competitive and complies with North American standards (including NEMA, UL, CSA) and/or international standards (including IEC, ATEX, CE);
  • Provide a detailed clarification/ exception list and linked to the proposals/ costs established
  • Prepare Electrical and Controls design plans for execution by the post contracts team

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
  • Two (2) years of experience in a similar position or a directly related position in the water treatment industry required.

Skill Requirements:

  • International standards (including IEC, ATEX, CE) and North American standards (including NEMA, UL, CSA) for electrical and control system design.
  • Familiar with the implementation of process instrumentation and control systems, electrical power equipment as applicable to power/process industries
  • Experience in design & engineering with PLC / HMI including programming or DCS & control system design
  • Experience in power or petroleum or process industries
  • Must be able to read Instrumentation/ Electrical /Control System drawings and P&IDS.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers/suppliers
  • Maintain positive attitude and good organizational skills.
  • Capability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to work extra hours when situation requires
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding, carryout instructions in written, oral, or diagram forms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in using MS Office
  • Attention to detail.
