About the Role :

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Data Engineer to join our growing data team.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in building and maintaining our data infrastructure, enabling data-driven decisions across the organization.

You will work closely with senior engineers and data scientists, contributing to the development of ETL pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and reporting tools.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to launch their data engineering career and gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines using SQL and other relevant technologies.

- Extract data from various sources (databases, APIs, files) and load it into our data warehouse.

- Transform and clean data to ensure data quality and consistency.

- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and data quality issues.

- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and provide them with the necessary data support.

- Contribute to the development and maintenance of our data warehouse schema.

- Write and maintain clear and concise documentation for data pipelines and processes.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering trends and technologies.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our development processes.

- Assist in the automation of data-related tasks.

- Work with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift - mention specific technologies used by your company).

- Implement data quality checks and monitoring.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.


- 1-4 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.

- Strong SQL skills, including experience with data manipulation, querying, and stored procedures.

- Specifically mention the SQL dialects your company uses, e.g, MySQL, PostgreSQL, T-SQL.

- Experience with at least one ETL tool or framework (e.g, Apache Airflow, Informatica, SSIS).

- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.

- Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).


- Experience with scripting languages like Python is a plus.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Passion for data and a desire to learn and grow in the field of data engineering.

Bonus Points :

- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g, Tableau, Power BI).

- Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g, Hadoop, Spark).

- Experience with Agile development methodologies.

- Contributions to open-source projects
